We had earlier reported that Mike Flanagan will be helming a film titled The Life of Chuck. The shooting for the film has now been completed, the filmmaker updated on social media.
"This has been a tenacious little miracle of a movie from the start & I'm forever indebted to this wonderful cast and crew. This film is deeply special to me, and I'm elated that it's going to exist in the world,” Mike wrote on X. Mentioning that it has been a long time he made something “truly independent” and “fed” his soul, he expressed excitement to return to indie space. The film was shot in Alabama where the filmmaker also shot his Oculus, Before I Wake, Hush and Gerald’s Game.
“Our cast was an embarrassment of riches, our crew was small but fierce & the film itself is like nothing I've ever gotten to make, or will likely ever get to make again. I am in love with every frame & so grateful to every person who brought this slice of hope and joy to life. THE LIFE OF CHUCK is the movie I want to leave in the world for my kids,” he added.
Mike said that he is back to Los Angeles to edit the film.
The Life of Chuck is an adaptation of Stephen King’s one of the three interconnected stories of the author's anthology If It Bleeds. The film stars Tom Hiddleston, Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiodar, Karen Gillan, Matthew Lillard, Harvey Guillén and Jacob Tremblay, besides featuring Mike’s regulars Kate Siegel, Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, Matt Biedel, Sauriyan Sapkota.
Mike Flanagan will also be producing the film along with Trevor Macy under the banner of Intrepid Pictures.
