The first teaser trailer of the fourth instalment in the Planet of the Apes reboot series, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, was released on Thursday. The film director, Wes Ball is gearing up to hit theatres worldwide, soon.
The film's trailer opens by revealing that it takes place in a world where apes are supreme and humans have been forced to live in the shadows, several generations after Caesar's reign. One young ape embarks on a terrifying adventure that will make him doubt all he has ever known about the past and make decisions that may shape the future for both apes and humans as a new, despotic ape leader establishes his dominion.
Deemed as the sequel to War for the Planet of the Apes (2017), Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is written by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Patrick Aison.
The film has an ensemble cast, including Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Peter Macon, Eka Darville, and Dichen Lachman, Eka Darville, Kevin Durand, Travis Jeffery, Neil Sandilands, Sara Wiseman, Lydia Peckham, and Ras-Samuel Weld A'abzgi. The feature is produced by Joe Hartwick Jr., Jaffa, Silver, and Jason Reed.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will be released in theatres on May 24, 2024.
