A new poster of Wonka, the upcoming film starring actor Timothee Chalamet in the lead titular role, was released by the makers recently.
The poster shows the actor portraying the famous fictional chocolatier Willy Wonka from his earlier days. As the poster shows all things sweet and an Oompa Loompa portrayed by Hugh Grant, a quote reads, "Every good thing in this world started with a dream."
Set to release on December 15, Wonka is a prequel to the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and is helmed by Paul King with a script he co-wrote with Simon Farnaby.
As Timothee essays the eponymous character, the rest of the cast includes Keegan-Michael Key, Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins, Olivia Colman, Jim Carter, Matt Lucas, and Natasha Rothwell, among others.
The 1964 novel is authored by Roald Dahl, and tells the story of Willy Wonka, a renowned chocolatier who gained worldwide fame for his creative chocolate and candy-making techniques. The book was previously adapted on screen in 1971 as Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, where Gene Wilder essayed the role of Willy Wonka, and in 2003 as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, where Johnny Depp played the chocolatier.
