Nicolas Cage to star in psychological thriller The Surfer

The film will be directed by Lorcan Finnegan and has a script written by Thomas Martin

Nicolas Cage has been cast in an upcoming psychological thriller film, The Surfer. The film will be directed by Lorcan Finnegan and has a script written by Thomas Martin.

The Surfer tells the story of a man( Cage) who returns to his hometown in Australia after living in the U.S. for many years. However, he is embarrassed in front of his teenage son by a group of local surfers who believe they own the secluded beach where he grew up. Hurt by their actions, Cage decides to stay and fight against those who control the bay. 

The film is produced by Robert Connolly, Leonora Darby, James Harris, Mark Lane and Nathan Klingher. 

Meanwhile, Nicolas Cage was last seen in Renfield, in which he essayed the role of Dracula. The actor has a slew of films lined up, including, Sympathy for the Devil, The Retirement Plan and Dream Scenario, among others.
