We know that a biopic of American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan titled, A Complete Unknown, is in the making, with actor Timothee Chalamet to essay the lead role. The makers have announced that Benedict Cumberbatch will play the role of Pete Seegar in the upcoming biopic.

Pete Seegar was a folk artist, singer and inspiration for Dylan, to later become the well-known artist he is today. Seeger was one of the earliest supporters of Dylan and his work.  

Set at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, A Complete Unknown follows a young Dylan experimenting with electric in folk music. The move causes confusion among his fans, but the decision improves his career as he records some of the greatest albums and songs. 

A Complete Unknown will be directed by James Mangold, with a script written by Mangold along with Jay Cocks. Mangold will also be credited as the producer of the film.
