Actor Vanessa Hudgens is set to star alongside Mads Mikkelsen in the upcoming action spy thriller The Black Kaiser.

The film is directed by Derrick Borte, who replaced filmmaker Jonas Akerlund. Written by Jayson Rothwell, the film is based on the Dark Horse graphic novel Polar by Victor Santos. The film will go on floors from this fall.

The Black Kaiser will revolve around the titular hitman who discovers a deadly conspiracy protecting a powerful syndicate of killers, and becomes their target. The film will be backed by Constantin Film, JB Pictures and Dark Horse Entertainment production, along with Jeremy Bolt and Robert Kulzer.
Martin Moszkowicz and Mikkelsen will serve as executive producers.
