Al Pacino to star in a film about JFK assassination

Veteran actor Al Pacino will play the lead alongside Viggo Mortensen and Jon Travolta in a thriller centred around the JFK assassination. The cast of the film also includes Shia LaBeouf, Rebecca Pidgeon, and Courtney Love.

Titled Assassination, the film revolves around the assassination of American President John K Kennedy in 1963. It will retell the story from the point of view of the mob. The film will be directed by David Mamet, based on a script written by Nicholas Celozzi. Mamet is best known for writing the screenplay for critically acclaimed films like Glengarry Glen Ross and The Untouchables.

The cinematography for the film is being handled by Robert Elswitt, he won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography for his work in There Will Be Blood.
