Origin of the Species, Ron Howard's survival thriller has added Ana De Armas, Jude Law,  Alicia Vikander, and Daniel Brühl in lead roles. Imagine Entertainment, the filmmaker's production house is backing the project along with CAA Media Finance and Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios. Noah Pink will be penning the script for the film.

The production of Origin of the Species is said to begin in Queensland, Australia towards the end of 2023. The film is being described as an “erotic and darkly comic tale of murder and survival, set around a group of eclectic characters who abandon civilization for the Galapagos. They are all searching for the answer to that ever-pressing question that plagues us all: what is the meaning of life.”, and is based on two different accounts of the same true story.

An Oscar-winner, Ron Howard last helmed Thirteen Lives, the Amazon Thai cave rescue thriller. The film starred Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell, and Joel Edgerton.
