Matthew McConaughey to star The Rivals of Amziah King

The film will be a crime thriller

Actor Matthew McConaughey is set to star in the upcoming crime thriller titled The Rivals of Amziah King which will be written and helmed by Andrew Patterson, who previously directed The Vast of Night.

While the plot of the film is kept under wraps, the actor is said to play the role of Amziah King. The texture of the film is expected to be dark and gritty with a rural Oklahoma backdrop. The film is backed by Black Bear Pictures and Heyday Films.

"When I first watched The Vast of Night it was clear me that Andrew Patterson was a remarkable talent with a singular vision. I am incredibly excited to be working with Andrew and to support him and Matthew as they bring Amziah to life and make what I believe will be an extraordinary film," executive roducer David Heyman was quoted as saying by Collider.
