Squid Game star HoYeon Jung joins the cast of thriller Hope

Directed by Na Hong-Jin, Hope marks Hoyeon’s first starring role in a Korean project since she made her screen debut in Squid Game

Earlier, we had reported that Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander were roped in the cast of the upcoming Korean thriller Hope. The latest update is that Netflix's Squid Game fame, HoYeon Jung, joined the cast. 

Directed by Na Hong-Jin, Hope marks Hoyeon’s first starring role in a Korean project since she made her screen debut in Squid Game

The details of the film are kept under wraps. According to will be set against the backdrop of the harbour town Hopo Port which has to fight against a mysterious discovery for their survival. According to Deadline,  husband and wife Fassbender and Vikander will speak English in the film and want to take part after being impressed by the director’s previous work.

Backed by Forged films and distributed by M Entertainment, the film will be shot by cinematographer Hong Kyung-pyo who earlier worked in the critically acclaimed Parasite.
