A24 to produce disaster comedy titled Y2K

A24 makes history at the Oscars 2023 becoming the first studio to sweep the accolades in major categories with its films  Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Whale. The latest update is that the studio plans to make a disaster comedy titled Y2K, directed by Kyle Mooney.

An ensemble cast has joined the cast of Y2K, including Jaeden Martell, Rachel Zegler, Julian Dennison, Lachlan Watson, Mason Gooding, The Kid Laroi, Tim Heidecker, Eduardo Franco, Miles Robbins, Alicia Silverstone, Fred Hechinger, and Daniel Zolghadri. 

Penned by Evan Winter, Y2K is set on New Year's Eve 1999. The story tells about the life-turning events of two high school nobodies at a New Year's party. A24 will be producing and releasing the film worldwide. 

Meanwhile, A24 has various upcoming films lined up, including Kelly Reichardt's Showing Up, Ari Aster's horror-comedy Beau Is Afraid, You Hurt My Feelings,  Past Lives, and Talk to Me.
