Lucasfilm, the production house of Star Wars, has been facing turbulence for the past some months, after a few projects were shelved, and some technicians parted ways. The latest update is that Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson, who were supposed to pen a Star Wars film, have left the project.

According to Above the Line, while Lindelof and Britt-Gibson have both exited the project, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, who was earlier onboarded to direct the film, is still slated to direct and production on the film is reported to start in February 2024 with the film eyeing a December 2025 release.

A report by Above the Line also mentioned that Lindelof and Britt-Gibson had turned in a draft of the script in mid-February but parted ways with the project days later. It is said that Lucasfilm already has a new writer on board, whose identity is still kept under wraps.

Earlier this month, Lucasfilm shelved Petty Jenkin and Kevin Feige's Star Wars film. Former executive producer Karyn McCarthy also sued the production house for being toppled from the position of executive producer from the upcoming series The Acolyte
