Laurie Davidson joins cast of Mary & George

The series follows Marie Villiers who makes her son George seduce King James I and possibly kill him

Laurie Davidon will join fellow cast members Julianne Moore, Nicholas Galitzine, and Tony Curran in the upcoming British period drama series Marie & George. The series follows Marie Villiers who makes her son George seduce King James I and possibly kill him. The television miniseries is based on a nonfiction book named The King’s Assassin written by George Woolley.

The series is created by British playwright and screenwriter DC Moore while the direction is handled by Oliver Hermanus. Moore will play Mary Villiers, the Countess of Buckingham while Nicholas Galitzine plays her son George Villiers, the Duke of Buckingham. Laurie Davidson will play Robert Carr, the Earl of Somerset while Tony Curran plays King James I.

The principal photography for the eight part series began in London in January 2023. While the makers are yet to reveal their release plans, it has been confirmed that the series will air in the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and India.
