Erin Doherty joins the cast of A Thousand Blows

She will star alongside Malachi Kirby who will be leading the series

Erin Doherty, known for The Crown, has joined the cast of the Disney+ period drama A Thousand Blows created by Steven Knight. 

Doherty will play the role of Mary Carr, the leader of Forty Elephants. She will star alongside Malachi Kirby who will be leading the series and Stephen Graham. She is known for her portrayal of Princess Anne in the Netflix series. A Thousand Blows will be directed by Ashley Walters. 


Set in 1880s Victorian London, A Thousand Blows will revolve around the world of illegal boxing. Hezekiah (Kirby) and his best friend Alec (Francis Lovehall) find themselves in post-industrial London's East End, where they meet Carr (Doherty) and Sugar Goodson (Graham) along the way. 

Jason Tobin, James Nelson-Joyce. Walters will direct A Thousand Blows alongside Coky Giedroyc.
