Earlier this year, actor Will Smith announced that the fourth instalment of Bad Boys is in the pre-production stage. The latest update is that Vannesa Hudgens will return to reprise her role as Kelly in Bad Boys 4.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence play the two leads. The plot for the fourth instalment is kept under wraps. Vannesa Hudgens first appeared as Kelly in the third instalment of Bad Boys. The actor plays the role of a weapons expert at Advanced Miami Metro Operations (AMMO) and helps Mike (Smith) and Marcus (Lawrence) to solve cases and take down the bad guys. The Bad Boys franchise revolves around two detectives solving a series of murders.

Directors Adil El Arbi and Billall Fallah will also return to direct the fourth instalment. Chris Bemmer will be writing the script for Bad Boys 4. According to Deadline, the film will go on floors within the next few months. El Arbi and Fallah served as executive producers of Ms Marvel and recently directed and co-wrote the feature film, Rebel.

The first film in the series came out in 1995. The sequel was released seven years later, in 2003.

Meanwhile, Vannesa Hudgens is widely known for other acting credits in both series and films, including High School Musical film series, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Spring Breakers, Tick, Tick…Boom! and The Princess Switch.
