Citadel, starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden, has been renewed for a second season. The renewal announcement has preceded the series premiere on April 28, per Hollywood Reporter.

Billed as a spy thriller Citadel is executive produced by Russo Brothers' AGBO, and David Weil serves as the showrunner. The series also stars Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville in prominent roles.

Citadel was first announced in mid-2018 with Josh Appelbaum as the showrunner. Due to creative differences, he parted ways, and David Weil onboarded the project. The series is currently on track to become the second-most-expensive show ever made in Amazon, behind  The Rings of Power.

Meanwhile, Citadel has already spawned an Indian adaptation. The Indian adaptation of the series, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, will be directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.
