Edward Berger to adapt Chistopher Reich's Simon Riske book series 

Edward's All Quiet On the Western Front won Best International Feature Film award

Director Edward Berger, whose film All Quiet On the Western Front won Best International Feature Film award at the Oscars, is set to work for Netflix in another project. The filmmaker will be directing a series adaptation of Chistopher Reich's Simon Riske.

The book series is about the titular character, who is an industrial spy. With Edward helming the series, it will have Rowan Joffe as the writer. The book series consists of The Take, Crown Jewel, The Palace and Once a Thief. The series is set to follow the events of The Take and will be backed by eOne and See-Saw Films. The spy thriller is in the early stages of production at Netflix.

All Quiet On the Western Front won four awards at the Oscars. The German film won Best International Feature, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, and Best Original Score.

Meanwhile, Edward is also working on another adaptation based on Casey Sherman's crime novel Helltown: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer on Cape Cod. The series, titled Helltown, is under development at Amazon Studios.
