Actor Tom Cruise skipped the 95th Academy Awards ceremony held in Los Angeles on Monday. It may be noted that the actor's super-hit film, Top Gun: Maverick, was nominated in six categories, including Best Picture.

And the film bagged one award for Best Sound. However, the actor did not make it to the ceremony. Meanwhile, sources revealed to The Sun that the actor knew that film would miss out on the Oscars and so he decided to skip the ceremony. He was reportedly shooting for his upcoming film, the 8th instalment of Mission Impossible, in Svalbard, 500 miles south of the North Pole.

"Tom just knows how these things play out - he'd rather get on with doing what he does best and making amazing movies that millions want to go and see than sit in an audience clapping and smiling for the cameras. He's seen it all before," the source said. He also turned down the chance to take a private jet to Hollywood to attend the Oscars.
