Jimmy Kimmel, the host of the 95th Academy Awards, drew flak for calling RRR a Bollywood film during the award ceremony.

It has been an ongoing concern for South Indian filmmakers when films from their languages and regions are regarded as Bollywood films. It may be noted that Bollywood only refers to Hindi films. Recently, when Jimmy Kimmel wrongly called RRR a Bollywood film, many social media users criticised it.

Before inviting the presenters for the first award, Jimmy was taken off the stage by a bunch of dancers reprising RRR's Naatu Naatu step. At that time, he referred to it as a bollywood film. Meanwhile, it may be noted that Naatu Naatu, composed by MM Keeravaani, won the Best Original Song Award at the Oscars.
