The Little Mermaid trailer to be out on this date

The makers of The Little Mermaid, the upcoming live-action by Disney, announced that the trailer would debut on March 12 during the Oscars ceremony. 

The Little Mermaid explores the fairy tale of Princess Ariel, the daughter of King Triton of the underwater kingdom Atlantica. Ariel falls in love with a human, Prince Eric, after she saves him from a shipwreck. The film explores the tale of the trials and tribulations of Ariel to fulfil her love.

Halle Bailey stars as the central character and is joined by Jude Akuwudike, Daveed Diggs, Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina, Simone Ashley, Noma Dumezwani, Russell Balogh, and Jessica Alexander, among others. 

Rob Marshall helms The Little Mermaid with a screenplay by Jane Goldman and David Magee. Alan Menken is the composer. Walt Disney Pictures, Marc Platt Productions, Lucamar Productions, and 5000 Broadway Productions are backing the film.

The Little Mermaid will release in theatres on May 26.
