Clancy Brown joins the cast of The Penguin

Canadian actor Clancy Brown has joined the cast of The Penguin series in a recurring role. He will be joining Colin Farrell who will be reprising his role from The Batman. The series is a continuation of the Matt Reeves film. 

Brown has previously starred in Marvel's Daredevil and The Punisher, marking The Penguin as his third superhero-adjacent series. He played the role of Ray Schoonover, the colonel in charge of the secretive and deadly squad Frank Castle in the Marvel series.

The Penguin is a spin-off series of Matt Reeves' directorial The Batman, revolving around Colin Farrell's character. Clancy Brown will be playing the role of Salvatore Maroni, a violent and infamous Gotham City crime don. Eric Roberts previously played this character in The Dark Knight and in Gotham.

Brown has previously voiced Supervillain Lex Luthor in various DC films, including animated projects. The Penguin previously added actors Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Deirdre O'Connell to its cast. The Penguin will be produced by Matt Reeves. The series will begin production soon and is slated for release in 2024.
