Ben Schnetzer and John Malkovich to star in The Yellow Tie

In the film, Schnetzer will play a younger Sergiu, while John Malkovich will play an older version

The Yellow Tie , the upcoming film directed by Serge Ioan Celebidachi, will star actors Ben Schnetzer and John Malkovich in the lead roles. The film is based on the true story of artist Sergiu Celibidache, father of the filmmaker.

In the film, Schnetzer will play a younger Sergiu, while John Malkovich will play an older version. 

Sergiu Celibodache is one of the most celebrated and controversial artists. The story is set against the backdrop of a small town in Moldavia, Romania, as it follows the life of the classical musician who was the chief conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic. The film will follow his dreams against all odds, experiencing World War II in bombarded Berlin, as he refuses to accept any compromises along the way. 

Serge and James Olivier serve as writers of the film. 

Adela Vrinceanu Celebidachi, Cristina Dobritoiu, Andrei Boncea, Christopher Milburn, and James Olivier will back the film, with Robert W. Cort as executive producer.

The film's release date is yet to be announced.
