Multiple Grammy award winner and singer-songwriter Erykah Badu will be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming Netflix film The Piano Lesson.

The upcoming film is based on the play, The Piano Lesson by August Wilson. It will star Samuel L Jackson and John David Washington, Ray Fisher, Danielle Deadwyler, Michael Potts, and Corey Hawkins among others. The Piano Lesson is directed by Malcolm Washington with Virgil Williams and Malcolm Washington writing it.

According to the makers, the logline reads, "Set in 1936 Pittsburgh during the aftermath of the Great Depression, The Piano Lesson follows the lives of the Charles family in the Doaker Charles household and an heirloom, the family piano, which documents the family history through carvings made by their enslaved ancestor."

It is produced by Academy Award Winner Denzel Washington, and Academy Award Nominee Todd Black.
