We know that acclaimed filmmaker Yargos Lanthimos and actor Emma Stone are teamed up for an upcoming film titled, Poor Things. The film, which was slated for release on September 8, has now been postponed to December 8 due to ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Ahead of the December release, the film will premiere at the 2023 Venice Film Festival.

Poor Things is based on a novel of the same name by Alasdair Gray. Tony McNamara has adapted the book to the screen.

The official synopsis of the film read, " Poor Things is an incredible tale and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter's protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she lacks, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.

Apart from Emma Stone, the film's cast includes Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo, Ramy Youssef, Jerrod Carmichael, Christopher Abbott, Margaret Qualley and Kathryn Hunter.
