After rumours begin to spread that filmmaker James Cameron who helmed the iconic film Titanic, is going to make a film on the recent Titan submersible tragedy, the filmmaker took to Twitter to condemn the reports. He also denied that he will not be doing a film on the tragedy.

On June 18, Titan, a submersible operated by OceanGate company, imploded during an expedition to find the wreck of Titanic ship. In the process, five people lost their lives. Following this, reports began to surface that James will be making a film on this event, who has conducted over 30 visits to the ship wreck in order to make his film Titanic, starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet.

However quashing the rumours and taking to Twitter, James wrote, "I don’t respond to offensive rumors in the media usually, but I need to now. I’m NOT in talks about an OceanGate film, nor will I ever be."

Earlier speaking to ABC about the submarine wreck, James was quoted as saying, "Following this, reports began to surface that James will be making a film on this event, who has conducted over 30 visits to the ship wreck in order to make his film Titanic. I’m struck by the similarity of the Titanic disaster itself, where the captain was repeatedly warned about ice ahead of his ship, and yet he steamed at full speed into an ice field on a moonless night and many people died as a result. For us, it’s a very similar tragedy where warnings went unheeded
