Tom Cruise's much-anticipatory film Mission Impossible 7 is currently running in the theatres. Meanwhile, he recently stated that he has been working on his next film, which is said to be shot in space.

He is said to collaborate with the Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman on a film set outside the earth's surface. In a recent Variety interview, he said, "We've been working on it diligently, and we'll see where we go."

According to IANS, Universal Pictures chair Dame Donna Langley said to BBC that they have a great project with Tom in work that do contemplate him taking a rocket to the Space Station.

"And hopefully he will become the first civilian to do a space walk outside of the International Space Station. He will play a down-on-his-luck guy who finds himself in the position of being the only person who could save Earth."

It may be noted that the plans for the film were initiated in 2020, with Elon Musk's SpaceX and NASA both involved in the project.
