The Super Mario Bros. Movie gets an OTT release date in the US

Global entertainment brands Illumination and Nintendo jointly created the animated fantasy action film based on the video game franchise Mario

The feature-length animated adaptation of the Nintendo game, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, will stream on an American over-the-top video streaming service Peacock. The film, which earned more than 1 million at the box office, was released worldwide in the first- week of April. 

Global entertainment brands Illumination and Nintendo jointly created the animated fantasy action film. Despite the colossal success, the film received mixed reviews, "With impeccable animation, funny lines that fall flat, and ample amounts of member berries, the film is little more than a movie-length reminder of the beloved video game franchise", reads the CE review of the film."

Directed by Aaron Horvath, and Michael Jelenic, the film has Chris Pratt voicing Mario while Anya-Taylor Joy voices Princess Peach, Charlie Day voices Luigi, and Jack Black voices Bowser.
