Michael Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson to headline late musician's biopic 

Antoine Fuqua will helm the project, which will be backed by Graham King from Lionsgate, which will distribute the film worldwide.

Jaafar Jackson, the nephew of Michael Jackson and son of Jermaine Jackson, is set to portray the late musician, in the upcoming biopic titled Michael. Antoine Fuqua will helm the project for Lionsgate, which will distribute the film worldwide. 

Michael will be the first major film role for 26-year-old Jaafar, who is the second-youngest son of  Michael Jackson's older brother and Jackson 5 member Jermaine Jackson. 

Taking to his social media, Jaafar announced the news, "I am humbled and honoured to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life. To the fans all over the world, I will see you soon."

Known as the King Of Pop, Michael Jackson, ruled the pop world for four decades as a dazzling performer, who inspired generations. His lasting legacy is also affected by controversies and allegations. 

Michael, written by John Logan, will be produced by Graham King, and will go on floors later this year.
