Earlier, it was confirmed that Attack the Block will have a sequel starring John Boyega. Directed by Joe Cornish, the first film was received well by the audiences. Recently, the filmmaker revealed that the sequel is in development with Boyega's UpperRoom Productions, Film4, and Studiocanal.

Attack Block revolves around a teenage street gang who are pushed to defend themselves from alien invaders. In a recent interaction with Deadline, Cornish said that he and Boyega have a detailed outline and are researching the aspects of reality to merge into sci-fi fantasy. "We go out in the real world with brilliant researchers and find people whose lives intersect with those characters to get the detail and realism," Cornish added.
