Brendan Fraser's The Whale to release in India soon

The film is based on Samuel D Hunter’s play

The Whale featuring actor Brendan Fraser will release in Indian theatres on February 3. The film, helmed by Darren Aronofsky, will be distributed by Impact Films.

The Whale revolves around a reclusive English teacher Charlie, played by Brendon, who lives with severe obesity. He tries to connect with his daughter, who is now estranged.  The film is based on Samuel D Hunter’s play.

Besides Brendon, the film also stars Hong Chau and Sadie Sink. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2022 and bagged three nominations at the Oscars 2023, including Best Actor for Fraser, Best Supporting Actress for Hong and Best Make Up and Hair Styling. Brendon has already won the Critics Choice Award for Best Actor.

"We had been waiting for this moment and I am pretty sure Brendan's fans in India are going to love his comeback film on big screens,” said Ashwani Sharma, founder of Impact Films. In addition to this, Ashwani also revealed that they will be releasing Ruben Ostlund's Palme D' Or winner feature Triangle of Sadness. The film, which has been nominated for Best Picture at the 95th Academy Awards, also stars Charlbi Dean, Harris Dickinson and Woody Harrelson.
