As the 95th Academy Award nomination is out, Everything Everywhere All at Once has been leading with eleven nominations, and Michelle Yeoh makes history as the first Asian Best Actress Oscar nominee for her multifaceted role in the film. 

The Malaysian actor bagged her first lead role in a Hollywood film at the age of 59. And it has taken 95 years for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to shortlist a woman who identifies as Asian under its Best Actress category. Earlier she had performed major roles in films like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; Tomorrow Never Dies; and Crazy Rich Asians. 

"I think what it means to me are all those Asians out there go, 'You see, it's possible. If she can do it, I can freaking well do it as well.' That is the most important thing. I'm very ordinary. I just work very hard. There are so many brilliant actresses and actors out there who know that they have a seat at the table. All they have to do is find an opportunity and get there". The actor told Deadline after the nomination news. 

Everything Everywhere All at Once directed by Daniel Kwan, Daniel Scheinert became A24's first to cross $100 million at the global box office. The film also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Stephanie Hsu, and Ke Huy Quan. And all of them made it into the nominations in various acting categories.
