The makers of Beau Is Afraid, the upcoming American surrealist film, starring actor Joaquin Phoenix, released a new poster of the film, on social media.

The new poster features multiple versions of the actor, who appears with varying degree of ageing, from a boy to an old man. Beau is Afraid is set to hit the theatres in April, although a date has not been set yet. The trailer of the film will release on Tuesday.

Earlier titled Disappointment Blvd, the film is said to follow the life of a successful entrepreneur over a span of time. The film is written and directed by Ari Aster, who is best known for critically acclaimed horror films like Hereditary and Midsommar. Apart from Phoenix in the titular role, the cast of the film also includes Parker Posey, Zoe Lister-Jones, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Denis Ménochet, Hayley Squires, and Michael Gandolfini. It is worth noting that Gandolfini is the son of Sopranos fame James Gandolfini.

The shooting was wrapped up in October last year. Beau Is Afraid has Pawel Pogorzelski as the cinematographer and Lucian Johnston handling edits, both who have worked with Aster in Midsommar and Hereditary.
