Actors Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds will be seen together in the upcoming Deadpool sequel and also possibly in the Wolverine sequel as well. Ahead of them working together, Hugh Jackman has released a video asking the Academy not to validate Ryan Renolds with an Oscar nomination.

In 2022, Renolds co-starred with Will Ferrel in the film Spirited. Some reports have now revealed that the Academy has considered nominating the song Good Afternoon from the film which was sung by both Renolds and Ferrel. Responding to this speculation, Jackman released a video requesting the Academy not to consider the nomination.

In a very fun and teasing way, Jackman said, “Ryan Reynolds getting a nomination in the best song category would make the next year of my life insufferable." He added, “I have to spend a year with him shooting Wolverine and Deadpool. Trust me, it would be impossible. It would be a problem." Before saying this he also gave a disclaimer that he personally loved the film and the song.

On the work front, Hugh Jackman is currently wrapping up his run on Broadway titled The Music Man. He will start filming for the third Deadpool movie which is slated for a 2024 release.
