The official poster for Seneca: On the Creation of Earthquakes starring John Malkovich is out

The official first-look poster for the upcoming film Seneca: On the Creation of Earthquakes has been released online. The film explores the relationship between the popular roman philosopher Seneca and his pupil, the infamous emperor Nero. 

Seneca the Younger is best known for his Stoic philosophies while Nero is known for his hedonism and apathetic views toward the suffering of the common people. The film is directed by Robert Schwentke and is based on a story that he co-wrote with Matthew Wilder. Schwentke is best known for directing films like Allegiant, Insurgent, Red, and The Time Traveler's Wife.

John Malkovich plays Seneca in the film while Tom Xander plays emperor Nero. The cast of the film also includes Mary-Louise Parker, Andrew Koji, Geraldine Chaplin, Louis Hofmann, Julian Sands, Alexander Fehling, Lilith Stangenberg, and Nadia Benzakour.

While Seneca: On the Creation of Earthquakes is confirmed to release this year, the makers of the film are yet to confirm a release date.
