It's a wrap for Outlander S7

The filming for Outlander's extended 16-episode season 7 has been wrapped, actor Sam Heughan announced on Instagram. The eighth season of the series, consisting of 10 episodes, will mark the series finale.  

In a post on Instagram, Sam, who stars as Scottish warrior Jamie Fraser on the show, posted a picture of himself with the show's clapboard, announcing that filming for Season 7 had wrapped. "220 shooting days, a whole year of Outlander. THANK YOU to our amazing crew who have worked so hard and to our brilliant fans…we CANNOT WAIT for you to [see] Season 7." 

Outlander is based on a series of novels of the same name written by Diana Gabaldon. While season 7 is set to premiere on Starz in Summer, the streamer has also ordered to series Outlander: Blood of My Blood, a prequel centred on the love story of Jamie Fraser (The main protagonist of the series played by Sam Heughan) parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser. The network confirmed Blood of My Blood was in development in August.

Apart from Sam Heughan, Outlander stars Caitríona Balfe, Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, John Bell, David Berry, Caitlin O’Ryan, Paul Gorman, Charles Vandervaart, Izzy Meikle-Small, and Joey Phillips.
