Kelly Rowland to star in Tyler Perry's Mea Culpa

Tyler Perry's upcoming legal drama Mea Culpa will feature Kelly Rowland in the lead role. The film, which is set on Netflix, has an ensemble cast comprising Trevante Rhodes, Sean Sagar, Nick Sagar and RonReaco Lee. 

Mea Culpa will be written, directed and produced by Tyler Perry. The film will revolve around a defence attorney who takes on the case of an artist who may or may not have murdered his girlfriend, in the hopes of becoming a partner in her law firm. 

Kelly Rowland, Agni Bones and Will Areu will also be producing the film with Tyler Perry. Mea Culpa marks Tyler Perry's fifth film with Netflix, as he has signed the World War II drama Six Triple Eight also at the streamer.

Mea Culpa will mark the first collaboration between Kelly and Tyler. Kelly's acting credits include Think Like A Man, Bad Hair, The Curse of Bridge Hollow, and Freddy vs. Jason among other films. She has previously produced the Merry Liddle Christmas films and Chasing Destiny

There is still no word on when production will begin on Mea Culpa.
