Netflix has officially renewed the coming-of-age mystery series Outer Banks for a fourth season, even before the release of its third season. The third season is all set to premiere on the streaming platform only on February 23. The news was revealed on Saturday at the Poguelandia Fan Event in Huntington Beach, California.

Season 3 of Outer Banks will show the Pogues washed ashore on a desert island. For a brief moment, the group considers it an idyllic home. Becoming the island's newest residents, they spend their days fishing, swimming and revelling in the carefree lifestyle of their temporary dwelling, deeming it 'Poguelandia'. But things quickly go south for John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ, and Cleo when they find themselves once again caught up in a race for the treasure, quite literally running for their lives.

Series creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke will all return as showrunners and executive producers of the series. Outer Banks stars Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Carlacia Grant, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Drew Starkey, and Charles Esten. The first two seasons of Outer Banks are currently available for streaming on the platform.
