JJ Abrams and HBO Max will come together for a series titled Duster, which will be set in the 1970s. Others part of the cast include Rachel Hilson and Josh Holloway.

The upcoming series is part of the nine-film and TV deal that Abrams's Bad Robot signed with Warner Media in 2019. In 2020, Duster was one of the three series from the banner which was announced for HBO Max, along with The Shining offshoot and Overlook.

Meanwhile, Duster is set in 1972 and revolves around the first Black woman FBI agent who employs a driver in order to take down a crime syndicate. Sydney Elisabeth, Greg Grunberg, Camille Guaty, Asivak Koostachin, Adriana Aluna Martinez and Benjamin Charles Watson are also part of the cast.

Duster is an amalgam of all my favorite things — high octane storytelling with deep characters and so much heart. It’s a dream project and I’m supremely grateful to all the folks at Warner Bros. and HBO Max for believing in this show. And I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in crime than J.J. to build this incredible world," said LaToya Morgan, who has co-written the first two episodes.

The series will last for eight episodes.
