HBO cancels Avenue 5 after two seasons

The series first aired on January 19, 2020, and the second season aired two years later on October 10

The comedy series, Avenue 5, has been cancelled after two seasons at HBO. The series was created by Armando Iannucci and featured an ensemble cast including Hugh Laurie, Josh Gad, Lenora Crichlow, Zach Woods, Rebecca Front, and Suzy Nakamura. 

Avenue 5, a science fiction comedy is "set in the future, mostly in space." The crew and passengers of Avenue 5, a space cruise ship, find themselves stranded when knocked off course, and the head engineer dies. It has been estimated it will take the ship three years to return to Earth, and with only enough supplies to sustain the many passengers for the intended eight-week-long cruise, Avenue 5 must need help to maintain order and return the craft safely.
