Nicole Kidman & Jamie Lee Curtis to star as sisters in Prime Video series

The series is based on Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta books

Nicole Kidman & Jamie Lee Curtis to play sisters in a new Prime Video series based on Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta books.

Kay Scarpetta is a fictional character inspired by former Virginia Chief Medical Examiner Marcella Farinelli Fierro, MD. She is the protagonist in a series of crime novels written by Patricia Cornwell, noted for her use of recent forensic technology in Scarpetta's investigations. According to Deadline, Nicole Kidman will star as crime-solving medical examiner Dr Kay Scarpetta, and Curtis will portray her sister Dorothy in the Amazon series.

Both actors will serve as executive producers with Kidman under Blossom Films and Curtis via her Comet Pictures company. Other information about the series is yet to be revealed. 

The academy award winner Kidman has predominantly focused on feature films and has tasted the television in 2014's Big Little Lies. The actor has won an Emmy for her performance and for being the series producer. Her other television credits include The Undoing, Nine Perfect Strangers, Roar and Hemingway & Gellhor. The actor is also part of Lioness for Paramount+ and Expats for Prime Video.

Jamie Lee Curtis earned an Oscar nomination under the Supporting Actress category for Everything Everywhere All at Once. The actor's television credits include Scream Queens, New Girl and  NCIS, among many others.
