Actor Viola Davis has secured the coveted EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) status. Recently, she won Grammy for her memoir Finding Me under the Best Audiobook, Narration & Storytelling Recording categories. 

In her acceptance speech, she said, "Oh, my God! I wrote this book to honour the 6-year-old Viola, to honour her life, her joy, her trauma, everything. I just EGOT."

Viola Davis bagged her first Tony Award in 2001 for the best-featured actress for her performance in King Hedley II play. She later took home a second Tony for best lead actress in the 2010 production of Fences. The actor has gotten four Academy Award nominations and finally won her first Oscar in 2017 for best performance in the film adaptation of Fences.

Viola Davis has five Emmy nominations. Four of which she received for her portrayal of Annalise Keating in many seasons of How to Get Away With Murder. Then, in 2015, she won the best lead actress award for her role in one of the seasons.

She is the third black woman in history to get this EGOT achievement. Whoopi Goldberg and Jennifer Hudson are the other two black women with the EGOT status. Including Viola Davis, 18 people have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony, completing the EGOT feat.
