CBS has renewed its first-year drama So Help Me Todd for a second season. The series starring Skylar Astin and Marcia Gay Harden has been a consistent performer on CBS.

The series is a dramedy that follows the lives of Margaret Wright and her son Todd, trying to navigate their relationship. Margaret and Todd are opposites and their work becomes a hassle. While Margaret is an attorney, her son is a detective.

So Help Me Todd starts with Todd losing his detective license and hitting rock bottom. Margaret hires a jobless Todd to be an in-house investigator for her firm. How Margaret and Todd navigate through their contrasting methods of working, forms the rest of the story.

In addition to Harden and Astin, So Help Me Todd’s regular cast includes Madeline Wise, Tristen J. Winger, Inga Schlingmann and Rosa Arredondo. Series creator Scott Prendergast executive produces with Elizabeth Klaviter, Dr. Phil McGraw, Stuart Gillard, Jay McGraw and Julia Eisenman.
