Timothee Chalamet's Wonka lights up box office for Christmas season

With the Christmas and New Year festive season, the recently released Timothee Chalamet film Wonka has been ruling the box office with the collections nearing $250 globally. A musical drama from Warner Bros, Wonka released early December and has been ruling the box office for the Christmas weekend. The film is expected to cross $250 million soon.

Also starring, Calah Lane, Olivia Colman, Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson among others, Wonka is directed by Paul King. The film stars Timothee as the titular chocolatier, which is based on the character written by Roald Dahl.

The film opened to positive reception upon its release. “When blocks of sweet treats can bribe adults, chocolate fountains and death by chocolate are taken in the literal sense, the land of Wonka becomes a beautiful immersion of our childhood times,” reads CE review of the film.
