Sony Pictures Animation developing Thai fantasy adventure film with Matt Braly

A new fantasy adventure feature film is in the making at Sony Pictures Animation with filmmaker Matt Braly who made Disney animated series Amphobia. Matt has earlier worked with the banner as storyboard artist on The Mitchells vs the Machines feature which released on Netflix in 2021.

The upcoming film will have influence of the filmmaker's Thai history and revolve around a boy who, in an attempt to get rid of his illness, takes a journey to a world of Thai spirits. Rebecca Sugar will serve as the writer. Further details on the cast and technical crew of the film are yet to be announced.

It is to be noted that Matt's Amphibia also had a Thai-American protagonist and ran for three seasons on Disney from 2019 to 2022.
