Veteran filmmaker Ridley Scott, who recently helmed the Joaquin Phoenix-fronted historical, Napoleon, is set to direct the adaptation of writer-filmmaker Kevin McMullin's short story, Bomb. 

Attached to 20th Century Studios, the project revolves around a hostage negotiator Frankie Ippolito, who is called into duty just a day before his wedding, to confront a bomber. While other details on the cast and crew are yet to be out, it is clear that this project will go on floors after Scott completes helming the much-awaited sequel, Gladiator 2. 

Billed to be an action thriller, this project will be backed by Ridley Scott's home banner, Scott Free. This will mark Scott's return to the action thriller genre. Kevin, who last wrote and helmed the 2019 A 24 film, Low Tide, will also work on the script of the feature film.
