John Patton Ford to direct drama film for Netflix

Filmmaker John Patton Ford, who made Emily the Criminal, is set to write and direct a yet-to-be titled drama film for Netflix.

The film will follow a spy named James Andrews, who along with his team steals essentials of Confederacy in order to end the war. They work by damaging the supply route and tampering the lines of communication through telegraph.

The film will be partially based on Russell Bonds' book Stealing the General. It will be backed by Shawn Levy, Dan Levine and Dan Cohen under 21 Laps. The film is attached to Netflix. Details on the cast and crew of the film are yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, the director will be next helming dark comedy Huntington.
