Prime Video's A Million Miles Away gets release date

The film stars Michael Peña in the lead role as José Hernández

Prime Video announced the release date and unveiled the trailer of their upcoming original film, A Million Miles Away, on Tuesday. The film is based on a true story in which Michael Peña will be seen as José Hernández. José was the first migrant farm worker who went to space by becoming an astronaut.

The trailer of A Million Miles Away shows Hernandez as a migrant farm worker, who has an uncompromising determination to become an astronaut and go to space. He travels from a rural village in Michoacán, Mexico up to the International Space Station, by determinedly applying to a Space program year after year, even though he gets rejected 12 times. 

A Million Miles Away also stars Rosa Salazar, Sarayu Blue, Veronica Falcon, Julio Cesar Cadillo and Garret Dillahunt. The upcoming film is written and directed by Alejandra Márquez Abella. 

A Million Miles Away will premiere on Prime Video on September 15 on the occasion of Hispanic Heritage Month.
