Earlier, it was reported that a biopic on American rapper Snoop Dogg is in the making and set to be produced by the rapper himself. Penned by Black Panther co-writer Joe Robert Cole, the upcoming film will be directed by Allen Hughes.

Meanwhile, Hughes recently announced that production will begin soon. According to Variety, he said, "That's next. We're starting this summer. I'm so excited."

The upcoming untitled film is said to be a definitive take on Snoop's life and career. "With the biopic, I'm looking forward to people seeing this right here, this love story. To see the love that I have for my music career, the people that have inspired me to love, just watching it all unfold. Coming to a theatre near you."
