Netflix is set to remake the French classic The Wages of Fear. Henri-Georges-Clouzot received international acclaim with the film. Set to be released sometime next year, the remake is set to be helmed by Julien Leclercq, a popular French action director. The remake is tentatively untitled.

The original The Wages of Fear (1953) revolves around four men who are tasked with smuggling nitroglycerin to a remote oil field in South America. In an already potentially explosive situation, a rivalry begins to develop between the men, on the treacherous path.

The Wages of Fear original is based on The Salary of Fear by Georges Arnaud (1953). The 1977 American film Sorcerer is another adaptation of the novel, that was directed by William Friedkin.

No release date has been set for Leclercq's remake of The Wages of Fear.
