The filming for the remake of Faces of Death led by Dacre Montgomery and Barbie Ferreira has officially begun. The remake comes from filmmakers Isa Mazzei and Daniel Goldhaber, who have also written the film's screenplay. They previously helmed the 2018 psychological horror film Cam.

The 1978 original film, which is in the documentary format, revolves around pathologist Dr Francis B Gross, who got so much invested in the transitional moment between the stages of life and death. Gross also stipulated a theory that human beings are the only species who kill for greed.

Meanwhile, Barbie had earlier played a cam-girl in the first two seasons of Euphoria series. On the other hand, Dacre is known for playing the role of Billy Hargrove in Netflix's Stranger Things.
